HAPPENS stool is a revolution in conventional stool design. The most striking feature of the modern, bold furniture architecture is the slant of its wooden legs, whose shape, angle and lines flow perfectly into the seat cushion. Underneath, a leather carrying loop. HAPPENS is surprising, formally unique, constructively ingenious and exquisitely crafted. The interior centrepiece is a source of good humour and conversation. The HAPPENS stool elegantly crosses the boundary between design and art.
The random constellation of squared timbers leaning against each other at an angle reminds the designer of the tower with the steepest incline in the world, Capital Gate in Abu Dhabi, by RMJM Architects and ADNEC, Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. HAPPENS upholstered stool is the result of playing with the concept of inclined towers. Four slanted, skilfully balanced stool legs create a stable seat on the hand-sewn fabric upholstery. The weighty stool sculpture can easily be carried through life by the leather handle firmly anchored in the solid wood.
